The Co-op rebrands for a familiar feel

When creating a brand there is a real need for familiarity and recognition in order to create a tight bond with the public. The Co-op has been a British business stalwart for almost two centuries and has now taken the bold step to rebrand and honour the past with a simplistic yet sophisticated new logo.

The design pays homage to times gone by and is a real feat of beauty. The rebrand not only manages to keep traditions in tact but also brings a certain youthfulness to the company as a whole. The original logo used to inspire the rebrand dates to the 1960’s. This was a golden era for the Co-op and will hopefully generate positive emotions for nostalgic British patrons of the business.

An article in the creative review mentions how the company was operating at major losses not so long ago and the impact it had on the brands identity. Remembered fondly by many of the older generations, the new logo will inspire to ignite happy memories of a flourishing Co-op company and hopefully lead them to future successes.

We have recently seen major rebrands from companies like Instagram and Google, and the precedent has been laid out for success. In an ever modernising environment business are constantly having to keep on trend and relevant in their chosen markets in order to stay one step ahead of the game.

Bruce Springsteen Wows Crowds On The River Tour

Bruce Springsteen kicked off the UK leg of his “The River” tour this Wednesday at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium and I was one of the many thousand of fans who had the privilege of witnessing the boss in action.

Released in 1980 amidst a major recession in the United States, The River was an album embroiled in darker tones and therefore has been hailed by critics as one of Springsteen’s masterpiece albums. It has been certified 5 times platinum in the US and has also gained platinum status here in the UK.

As for the gig itself the crowds spirit wasn’t dampened by the torrential rain as Springsteen wowed everybody with stirring renditions of Born to Run, Thunder Road and the ever haunting The River amongst a 3 hour set list containing many more classic songs.

Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band are shining beacons in the music industry and set the standards for performance as well as fan pleasing. At 66 Springsteen shows no signs of slowing down and credit to his performance on Wednesday night there’s no reason he should do.

The music industry is currently embracing all things classic and 36 years since the release of The River Bruce Springsteen has done just the same for fans across the world. It’s a testament to the enduring support from fans that they are rewarded with such a special concert and get to relive the emotion and passion alongside other fans in grand locations across the globe.

As far as a business move goes the re-releasing of classic albums not only satisfies rock and roll patrons but also introduces new generations to the sounds of years gone by. It reopens a whole range of marketing opportunities as well as giving a modern twist to historic classics.

Wednesday night was a real treat and I was utterly overjoyed to spend the evening in the presence of greatness. Live music has a way of soothing the soul as well as opening up creative avenues and with all the hard work that goes into our daily profession its nice to have a night off and to just switch off for a while. Rest assured the hard work resumed first thing Thursday morning but all with a beaming smile and the tunes of Bruce Springsteen on the record player.

New Nandos Spring Menu Set To Treat Taste Buds

Ever popular restaurant chain Nandos has this week released information regarding the latest additions to their menu. The spring menu consists of a variety of new products and serves as a seasonal reward for their loyal customers.

From supergrain salads to sharing platters, and from Peri-Peri chocolate brownies to vinho spritzers there is a little bit of something for everybody. The new options on the menu suit vegetarians and meat lovers alike and can be seen as a real step forward in creative dining experiences.

For too long there has been a stigma surrounding Nandos that it’s an upscale KFC, but this new menu shows the true diversity of the restaurant chain and further cements it in popular culture. It’s ok to be a restaurant based solely around the sale of chicken dishes as long as they are this good!

As far as a business move goes this is a very shrewd one. Nandos is a restaurant that does very well for itself in the ultra competitive fast food market but this goes to show they haven’t lost touch with want the consumers want. As you continue to familiarize yourself with this topic, you begin to realize that it is market leaders who are implementing gaming technologies everywhere, such as Friv5Online Studio.

The variety included in their new spring menu goes to show that they value all customers from all walks of life. The delivery of the dining experience stems more from the satisfaction customers get inside a Nandos restaurant rather than the delivery of the same dishes week in week out.

By introducing a set seasonal menu not only attracts more custom during this time to taste the new dishes and drinks but also keeps Nandos in good favour with the general public. I for one am a fan who is looking forward to my next trip to my local Nandos restaurant!

What Is The Future Of Print Media?

This week saw the swift closure of the Trinity Mirrors “New Day” newspaper with the question being asked, “Is this the beginning of the end for print media?” This was a bold move from the media corporation who aimed to deliver a newspaper with no political alliance, just one that would deliver daily news articles across the United Kingdom. However by just producing a mere 50 editions it has been a project doomed from the outset.

The question that has to be asked is “what’s next for print media?” The more established newspapers will always have a role to play in the future of news reporting, but in the 21st century we have greater access to news at our fingertips so who will exactly buy into this new product?

The publishing of the newspaper has come at an odd time and I believe that any future projects to deliver informational and decisive news should come on the online platform. It’s much easier to sit behind a laptop and produce a piece of writing that with minimal effort can tell a tale to anybody anywhere across the globe.

Take blogging for instance. This article I write has taken inspiration from an article I read on the BBC NEWS website. The fact that I’ve never held a copy of the “New Day” in my hand and now never will backs up the concept that for the younger generations in society we now tend to receive our news from our technical devices rather than paying for an actual newspaper.

So what can business owners take from the tale of the “New Day?” It’s a tale of a failed business venture simply due to poor forward planning. To know your industry is the key to achieving success. The fact that we have instant access to news through online platforms makes breaking into the heavily saturated newspaper business harder than before.

We all need to have a clear understanding of our target market and assess their every need when making the leap of producing a new product. In this instance the foresight was lacking to see there isn’t a need for this product in the market yet should be applauded for the efforts they made to take news reporting back to its roots.
